Ingredients (for 1 person)

  • Plus Pacific saury (bone removed) 60g/1 fish
  • Appropriate amount of flour
  • 18ml soy sauce
  • 27ml mirin
  • 15ml water
  • 15ml salad oil

Cooking in a frying pan

  • 1. Coat the frozen saury in flour and fry in hot salad oil.
  • 2. Heat soy sauce, mirin, and water in a frying pan, add (1), and simmer.
  • Place on three plates and garnish with Japanese pepper.

POINTApplication tips

  • 1. You can also use more sauce and place it on top of rice to make a rice bowl. If you wrap kabayaki in egg and bake it, it becomes an elaborate dish similar to umaki.
