Sweet and spicy grilled horse mackerel is perfect with rice. Since it is boneless fillet, there are no bones and it is safe to eat the whole thing.

Ingredients (for 1 person)

  • Plus Horse Mackerel Fillet 60g 1 piece
  • 6g potato starch
  • 2g grated ginger
  • 15ml mirin
  • 15ml soy sauce
  • 45ml water
  • [Side dish]
  • Rice
  • White leek
  • Shishito peppers

Cooking in a frying pan

  • 1 Coat frozen horse mackerel in potato starch and fry in hot oil.
  • 2 Mix grated ginger, mirin, soy sauce, and water and bring to a boil, then add (1) and simmer.
  • 3 Place (2) on top of the rice and garnish with shredded green onions and deep-fried shishito peppers.

POINTApplication tips

  • 1 You can also use shredded cabbage instead of shishito peppers.
